Mine Safety and Health Assistant

As a Mine Safety & Health Assistant, you will provide program and administrative support to assigned staff.
You will also serve as a primary clerical support assistant responsible for performing a variety of clerical and technical services.
Your duties may include:
Making travel arrangements for employees of the work unit.
Providing itinerary, securing travel and hotel reservations, and preparing travel vouchers upon completion of travel.
Researching, gathering and assembling information for use by field office staff in special projects, evaluations, conferences, meetings and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Recording and tracking mine plan approval processing.
Preparing plan approval and rejection letters.
Uploading and downloading daily inspection activities.
Maintaining records systems for the work unit in support of Division operations.
Tracking citation and orders for assessment purposes to ensure submission to the District Office within established time frames.
Receiving calls and visitors.
Ascertaining the nature of the call/visit and determining those which she or he can personally handle or referring others to the appropriate staff.
Receiving, reviewing and distributing incoming correspondence.
Responding to those which do not require the attention of the supervisor or staff.
Reviewing outgoing correspondence for compliance with policy, procedure, format, grammar, punctuation, etc.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience and proficiency requirements described below.
Specialized Experience Requirement:
Is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-5, in the Federal Service.
This experience may have been gained either in the Federal or private sectors.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as experience providing support to senior staff members; providing technical information to the public; reviewing documents for conformance with policy and regulatory requirements; and performing a variety of administrative functions.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Maintaining record systems.
Receiving, reviewing, and distributing incoming and outgoing correspondence independently.
Arranging conferences, appointments, and travel arrangements.
Operating a variety of office equipment such as printers, plotters, modems, scanners, fax machines and copiers as needed.
Analyzing, interpreting and compiling data from a computer system, ability to manipulate data to achieve desired outcome.
Communicating effectively orally and in writing.
Proficiency Requirement:
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, applicants must possess a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
